This Exact Phrase - Use this box if you want to find pages that contain ALL of these words in the specific order you type them. Typing [ Robin Williams ] will NOT return pages that contain the following sentence (unless Robin Williams is mentioned elsewhere in the page).George Williams wrote about the North American red robin in today's New York Times.Searching for an exact phrase is very useful to find people or specific titles of books, movies, etc.
Any of These Words - Use this box if you want to find pages that contain one, some, or all of these words. Using this feature is a useful way to add synonyms to your search. For example, if searching for information about farming, you may want to type [ farming agriculture cultivation ] into this box. Doing this may find useful pages that are not included under a search for just [ farming ].
None of These Words - Use this box to exclude sites that contain specific words from your search. For example, you may want to find tomato recipes but are not interested in any soup or pizza recipes. Type [ tomato recipes ] into the all of these words box and [ soup pizza ] into the none of these words box. Your search will yield plenty of tomato recipes that do not mention soup or pizza. - Site/Domain - Use this feature to specify a website or domain that you would like to search. For example, you could search for pages about the Seattle Mariners only on ESPN.com, by typing [ Seattle Mariners ] in the all of these words box and typing [ espn.com ] in the Site/Domain box. You can also search for websites with a specific domain. For example, [ football ] can represent two very different sports depending on your geographical location. If you wanted to find out football players' salaries in the United Kingdom, you can type [ football salaries ] in the all of these words box and [ .co.uk ] in the Site/Domain box. This search will exclude most sites containing information about American football.
